The 46th Mines Safety Week organized under the aegis of Directorate General of Mines Safety, Udaipur Region and the event co-hosted by JK Cement and Hindustan Zinc Limited.In the concluding program of the ceremony on Saturday the 3 December, Birla Cement Limestone Mines Jai-Surjana bagged prize for overall performance in the mining sector. Mines also won three other prizes in the field of Mines Machinery & Maintenance, Mines Lighting and Electrical Installation-Welfare Amenities-Publicity Propaganda-Housekeeping.
Birla Cement Limestone Mines, Jai – Surjana partnered with A-1 Group of Mines, the group includes JK Laxmi Group’s Lakshmi Mines, Ultra Tech Cement’s Amli Mines, RSMM’s Jhamarkotra Mines, JK Cement’s Maliakheda Mines, Wonder Bhattkotdi, Aditya Mine of Aditya Cement, Arnia Joshi Mines of Nuvoco Vistas Corporation Limited and Mines of Vikram Cement.In the same sequence, the participant of the first aid team of Birla Cement Limestone Mines also honored with the Best First Aider award under the event.
In the ceremony, the mines of Chanderiya unit of Birla Corporation Limited awarded for standing second in overall performance and the award shield is awarded by Shri RT Mandekar Dy. Director General of Mines Safety, North Western Zone. Birla Cement Limestone mines also received First prize in Mines Machinery and Maintenance, second prize in Mines Lighting and Electrical Installation, third prize in Welfare Amenities, Publicity Propaganda, Housekeeping, and awarded with Shield.
It is worth mentioning that for arranging lighting according to the prescribed norms for night working at the mines; it has achieved a hat-trick by receiving awards in the competition for three consecutive years.
