Recently, Karan Tacker shared how he had to face his biggest fear – heights, while shooting a crucial stunt on one of the highest dams in the world, for Special Ops 2 on JioHotstar. Despite his phobia, he pushed through, knowing that as an agent, his character couldn’t afford to crack under pressure. That mindset helped him stay focused and deliver even in the toughest conditions.
Elaborating on the experience, Karan Tacker said, “This one was challenging in its own ways! The locations were extremely tough. The action is very real so when you’re hitting when you’re falling, it all just really feels like you’re falling on real ground because you’re shooting in real locations! Neeraj sir has a way of shooting and that’s all about keeping things real. He likes to keep it as close to contact as possible so it doesn’t look like we’re acting. That meant a lot of times I was actually getting punched, kicked, and thrown around, which was a challenge in itself. But the biggest one for me was overcoming my fear of heights. I have a major phobia, and I had to do this one stunt on one of the highest dams in the world. That took a lot of mental preparation.”
Portraying this and overcoming the fear with calm demeanor, Karan further elaborated, “If I truly were a R&AW agent for India, I can’t let pressure crack me! If anything, my job is only to be the sharpest when I am under pressure. So when you have that at the back of your mind, even when you’re shooting as an actor especially when the weather conditions are not in your favour and you’re trembling in the blistering cold and you’re drenched in the water at the dam you’re shooting under – you start thinking like a spy. You think about how he would respond to such conditions and how he wouldn’t let any of this get to him.”
