Adding a quirky spin to the world of online fame and influencer culture, the Hindi comedy-horror film ‘Aatmaram Live’ is gearing up for its theatrical release on November 28, 2025. The film marks the directorial debut of Niharika Sahni, who has also penned the screenplay. Aatmaram Live will release across India on November 28, 2025, with an international rollout expected later.
Set against the backdrop of India’s fast-evolving digital ecosystem, Aatmaram Live traces the journey of a struggling content creator whose hunger for instant stardom pushes him into a bizarre, ghost-ridden adventure. The film mixes satire with supernatural elements, examining how far young influencers can go for views, followers and virtual applause.
Sahni says the idea stemmed from watching the growing desperation among creators to stay relevant. “This story is rooted in reality, told with humour and unpredictability. Making this film reaffirmed that fresh talent can break through. If we could pull it off, so can many others,” she says.
The project itself had a bumpy ride. Originally devised as a small-budget festival entry, the team missed multiple submission deadlines due to production challenges. Switching gears, the makers opted for a full-scale theatrical release. Sahni adds, “It wasn’t an easy transition, but in filmmaking, you learn to adapt. We’re hopeful the audience will appreciate the effort.”
Convincing production houses became another obstacle. Although several expressed interest, many withdrew because the cast and crew included mostly newcomers. Sahni shares, “The experience made me feel like the lead character—seeking validation in a crowded space. That connection shaped the film even more.”
With a line-up of fresh actors, first-time technicians and original music, the film aims to
showcase emerging talent and new storytelling voices.
