Nuvoco Vistas Corp Ltd, India’s fifth-largest cement group in terms of capacity, has launched the Zero Dropout Drive at Nimbol, Rajasthan, under its CSR initiative, the Shikshit Bharat Program.
This initiative aims to ensure 100% enrolment and zero dropout rates among children in rural areas by providing essential learning resources. A key highlight of the program is the distribution of Desk it, a school bag that converts into a study table, allowing students to study comfortably anywhere. It has already helped 421 students across 16 government schools in the neighbouring villages of the Nimbol Cement Plant.
A formal event was held in multiple schools to distribute Desk it and was attended by Mr. Lokesh Bahety, Plant Head, Nimbol Cement Plant, Security Head, village Sarpanches, school authorities, and members of the Navya Club (a welfare group comprising employees' spouses from Nimbol Colony).
Mr. Lokesh Bahety, Plant Head at Nimbol Cement Plant, stated: “Nuvoco’s Zero Dropout Drive gives every child a chance to learn and grow. With study kits like Deskit, we make learning easier and more accessible Supporting young minds today creates a
stronger, independent community for the future.”
The Zero Dropout Drive is part of Nuvoco’s ongoing commitment to building a sustainable,
education-focused ecosystem, further strengthening its role in community upliftment and long-term social development.
