Anticipating a significant increase in voice and data traffic during the annual Rath Yatra, Airtel has strengthened its network infrastructure in Puri in advance, including all major road and rail corridors leading to the holy city. These 5G-enabled expansions are designed to effectively manage the anticipated increase in network demand and ensure uninterrupted voice connectivity along with high-speed data services during peak pilgrim traffic.
Over the past 12 months, the company has deployed over 1,500 new 5G sites across the state. This has significantly strengthened its network coverage across 30 districts of Odisha, providing reliable high-speed connectivity to over 11 million customers across urban areas, emerging towns, and rural communities.
To further enhance customer experience, Airtel has introduced fully unlimited packs in Odisha starting at ₹399. These packs offer all prepaid smartphone users unlimited 4G and 5G data along with unlimited calling, allowing them to stream, share, work, study, and stay connected without worrying about daily data limits.
Abhirup Chatterjee, COO, Bharti Airtel, said, “Puri Rath Yatra is one of the most revered and largest public events in Odisha, attended by millions of devotees from across the country and abroad. Ensuring seamless connectivity during this festival is our top priority. We have completed extensive network expansion in Puri and along key Yatra routes. These efforts reflect Airtel’s commitment to providing every customer with a reliable, robust, and seamless network experience throughout the festival.”
