Hindustan Zinc received the CSR Health Impact Award for its exemplary work towards fighting Covid-19 at all levels and minimizing the risk of this pandemic within the communities in their operational areas.
The award has been conferred to the company by Integrated Health and Wellbeing (IHW) Council in association with Jagran Pehel.
Hindustan Zinc has been undertaking extensive measures to sensitize the local communities regarding Covid-19 and have engaged an extensive network of stakeholders, including District Officials, Local Community Representatives, SHG Members, and Union Members to prevent the spread of this virus.
So far, the company has touched upon the lives of 4.20 lac people through its ongoing Covid-19 relief initiatives and brought a positive change in their life during these challenging times.
The company has been supporting the communities by providing dry ration and supplying food grains through the Apni Rasoi initiative in partnership with Azim Premji Foundation which has so far reached about 7000to women & migrant laborers.
The company has been disinfecting areas by spraying & fumigating with Sodium Hypochlorite solution and providing medical gears like masks, sanitizers & Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs).
With a critical emphasis on the ground delivery of essentials directly to the communities, Hindustan Zinc has engaged their SHG Women and Partners to stitch & distribute masks and full-body suits, in turn generating income for these women as well.
The company through its ongoing under its Khushi initiative also launched “Koi Bacha Rahe Na Bhookha” & Nandghar initiative campaign, which is working towards improving the health and well-being of the children in the age group of 0-6 years and provide good health to lactating women and families, who have been severely impacted by the aftermath of Covid-19 pandemic.
