Following a scintillating round of city qualifiers and regional rounds, the ninth edition of the only global cricket tournament for university students, Red Bull Campus Cricket kicked off the National Finals at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow from 30th November and will go on till 4th December 2020. The Red Bull Campus Cricket National Finals is hosting the 8 best cricket teams from across the country. They are battling it out in the league stages from 30th November to 2nd December where matches are taking place simultaneously at Jaipuria Cricket Academy and Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. Post the league stages, the semi-finals will be held on 3rd December with the two best teams competing in the grand finale of Red Bull Campus Cricket National Finals on 4th December 2020.
The Indian Premier League franchise Rajasthan Royals deepens their association with the energy drink giant Red Bull in India and plans to continue scouting talent from the annual international T20 tournament for college cricket teams – Red Bull Campus Cricket and offer them a trial for the first team.
Red Bull Campus Cricket 2020 city qualifiers took place this year across 29 cities in India Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Indore, Pune, Nagpur, Goa, Raipur & Rajkot in the West; Jalandhar, Dehradun, Delhi, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Meerut and Dharamshala in the North; Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Mysore and Vizag in South; and Tripura, Guwahati, Ranchi, Bhubaneswar, Patna and Jamshedpur in the East. Tripura & Rajkot are the two new cities that have been added for this edition and are a part of the East and West Zones respectively. This year, RBCC found their Kochi city champions through their association with Kerala College Premier League T20 Championship in February
After the city and regional qualifiers, eight of the country’s best teams made it to the ninth edition of Red Bull Campus Cricket National Finals. DAV College Jalandhar and SS Jain Subodh College Jaipur qualified from the North Zone; New LJ College Ahmedabad and DAVV College Indore qualified from the West Zone; SOA University Bhubaneswar and YBN College Ranchi qualified from the East Zone; Jain College Bengaluru and Loyala College Chennai qualified from the South Zone. The respective teams will now battle each other to be crowned the best cricket university in the country at The Red Bull Campus Cricket National Finals in Lucknow
