Hyundai Motor India Foundation Inaugurates Two ‘Satellite Clinics’ in Rajasthan

Hyundai Motor India Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Hyundai Motor India Ltd. in association with the NGO Anhad India, today inaugurated two Satellite Clinics, under their public health program, ‘Sparsh Sanjeevani’, in rural Behror block of Alwar District, Rajasthan. The physical Satellite Clinics, located in the villages of Mandhan and Jakhrana will provide medical consultation with specialist doctors over digital platform catering to a community of over 25 000.

Speaking at the inauguration of the ‘Satellite Clinics’ in Rajasthan, Mr. S.S Kim, MD & CEO, Hyundai Motor India Ltd. said, “Rural India has low accessibility to affordable and quality healthcare. The Government of India has initiated the Ayushman Bharat Yojana to make healthcare more accessible in remote areas of the country.  Being a technology driven innovative organisation, we aim to provide contemporary solutions to   augment these initiatives, aligned with our vison of “Progress for Humanity”. The ‘Satellite Clinic’ is the perfect example where technology has addressed accessibility, cut down travel and will hopefully prevent overcrowding at hospitals.

The Satellite Clinics are ‘Physical clinics equipped with a trained nurse and an attendant who will conduct the primary diagnosis before referring the patient to the appropriate specialist over a digital platform. Prescription will be issued by the nurse and patients can collect medicines from the affiliated pharmacy. The clinics will also facilitate pathology and blood tests. The Satellite Clinics literally bring quality health care to the villages for a nominal fee. Complex cases will be referred to large hospitals in the closest cities.

Over a period of time, Satellite Clinic will be expanded in a phased manner in other parts of the state and in select areas around the country.

In February 2018, the Government of India announced Ayushman Bharat Yojana for the creation of 1 50 000 Health and Wellness Centers (HWCs) by transforming the existing Sub Centers and Primary Health Centers. These centers have been mandated to deliver Comprehensive Primary Health Care (CPHC) bringing healthcare closer to the homes of people. They cover both, maternal and child health services and non-communicable diseases, including free essential drugs and diagnostic services.
