Jaipur, 10 March. Chief Minister Mr. Ashok Gehlot has said that the state government will provide appropriate platforms for better marketing of the products of women self-help groups in the state. This will allow their products to be recognized nationally and internationally. He said that it is a matter of pleasure that a large number of women are becoming self-reliant through self-help groups and their social and economic empowerment.
On Wednesday, Mr. Gehlot was inaugurating the Jaipur Saras National Craft Fair organized at Ramlila Maidan on behalf of the Rajasthan Rural Livelihood Council and the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, from the Chief Minister’s residence. Welcoming the artisans, craftsmen, artists from different states of the country, the Chief Minister said that the state government will give a lot of encouragement to their art and skill. The addition of more than 23 lakh women through more than 2 lakh self-help groups in Rajasthan is an auspicious sign. This shows that women are poised to become self-sufficient.
The Chief Minister said that the State Government has made several announcements in the budget to give incentives to artisans, weavers, handicraftsmen etc. This includes the provision of direct development in government departments for the development of Jaipur Haat on the lines of Dilli Haat, completion of Urban Haat work of Sikar, rural women’s self-help groups linked to Rajivika up to Rs 1 lakh, handloom cardholder weavers 1 Lakhs of rupees and 100% declaration of interest on loan up to Rs. 3 lakhs for handicraft artisans are included.

Shri Gehlot said that the trend of organic farming is increasing day by day, in view of this, self-help groups should produce more and more organic products. With this, people will get quality products and self-help groups will get better prices. He praised the products of self-help groups and said that these products, being eco-friendly, play a big role in the exchange and preservation of our culture. He said that such fairs strengthen our sense of unity in cultural diversity and diversity.Â
On this occasion, the Chief Minister interacted with women of self-help groups from different regions of the country. Smt Sangeeta Devi of Bihar, Smt Chubhasenla of Nagaland, Smt. Rashmita Ben of Daman & Diu, Smt. Brijesh Bhargava of Bharatpur and Smt. Shalini Soni of Jaipur gave information about the products as well as their financial and financial support. Explain the experiences of social independence. The Chief Minister appreciated his efforts and said that he should keep moving forward towards success.

Chief Secretary Shri Niranjan Arya said that the concept of self-help group in Rajasthan is very old and today such a large number of women join them, showing their success. He said that the State Government is working towards financial inclusion of women self-help groups.

Additional Chief Secretary Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Shri Rohit Kumar Singh informed that about 300 groups from 22 states have set up 150 stalls in this national fair to be held till March 21. In this, various types of handicrafts and handicraft products are available, including carpets, carpets, cracks, Jaipuri queens, paper mashie products, lacquer and glass bangles, leather shoes, food items prepared by artisans.
