Jaipur-Based Social Entrepreneur Saloni Sancheti named in this year’s Forbes 30-under-30

Jaipur based 29 year old Saloni who was a part of project her & now has been named in the Forbes 30 – under – 30 list of 2021. 

Saloni has received the accolade for her social enterprise Baansuli, which along with the tribals of Dangs (Gujarat), manufactures Bamboo jewelry and other bamboo products.

Forbes is a prestigious international business magazine that extracts lists and rankings every year for entrepreneurs across the globe. Previously, Saloni’s venture had won the 3M CII Young Innovator Challenge Award 2018, Best Startup Award under ‘Sustainable Livelihood’ category by the Ministry of Rural Development and NIRD Hyderabad in 2019, among other honors.

Saloni was also a part of Project Her&Now’s entrepreneurship support program in Jaipur, Rajasthan in 2020, which helped her scale her enterprise Baansuli significantly.  ‘Her&Now-Empowering Women Entrepreneurs’, is implemented by GIZ, on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and in partnership with the Government of India’s Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE).

Speaking about her association with Her&Now, Saloni Sancheti says, “Being a part of Project Her&Now has provided us with so many opportunities for our business and for me to grow as an entrepreneur. The best part was the peer-to-peer learning and mentors devoting a massive amount of time to your business, which makes things possible.

Saloni’s organization manufactures in Dangs, and their marketing unit is in Jaipur. Saloni currently resides in Jaipur, handling marketing, production, and designing along with the artisans, and curating eco-friendly products like Bamboo jewelry, rakhis, sustainable home décor items, and impact gifting items, etc.
