Bharti Foundation the philanthropic arm of Bharti Enterprises, working to improve the accessibility and quality of education across six states in India, with a special focus on the girl child celebrated International Girl Child Day.
Nearly 40,000 students from 183 Satya Bharti Schools participated in the celebration keeping the theme ‘Digital generation. Our generation’ at the base of every activity curated for the day. This year, the theme has been set acknowledging the growing digital world and how a digital gap can also widen the gender gap.
Teachers spoke on the importance of women’s contribution to our society and on how
digitalization is the need of the hour. They also shared some examples of women leaders whose contributions impacted change in our society. Success stories and achievements of girl child alumni were shared too with students of Satya Bharti Schools.Students of class III to V made drawings to commemorate the occasion and students of class VI to X wrote essays on the contribution of women in our society, citing examples of the women leaders who inspire them.
All Bharti Foundation programs are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, and they contribute towards ‘Gender equality’ in every possible way.
