10 TH ANNIVERSARY OF RED BULL CAMPUS CRICKET NATIONAL FINALS

Red Bull Campus Cricket is an annual international T20 tournament for college cricket teams, providing a platform for young talent to play on a world stage and make their way into professional cricket without having to give up on college education. The competition was launched in 2012 and is now in its tenth year.

Following a scintillating round of city qualifiers and regional rounds, the grand 10 th edition of the only global cricket tournament for university students, Red Bull Campus Cricketkicksoff the National Finals in Chandigarhfrom 18 th October to 22 nd October. The Red Bull Campus Cricket National Finals will witness the 8 best cricket colleges from across the countrybattle it out in the league stages from 18th to 20th October where matches are taking place simultaneously at Mullanpur Stadium and Sector 16 Stadium in Chandigarh. Post the league stages, at the iconic PCA StadiumMohali, thesemi-finals will be held on21 st October with the two best teams competing in the grand finale of Red Bull Campus Cricket National Finals on 22 nd October.

Shri Ram College Muzaffarnagar and SS Jain Subodh College Jaipur qualified from the North Zone; New LJ College Ahmedabad and previous winners MMCC College Pune qualified from the West Zone; Maharishi College Bhubaneswar and Jamshedpur Cooperative College from Jamshedpur qualified from the East Zone; Jain College Bengaluru and TKRES College, Hyderabad qualified from the South Zone. The
respective teams will battle each other to be crowned the best cricket university in the country at the Red Bull Campus Cricket National Finals in Chandigarh.

The Indian Premier League franchise Rajasthan Royals deepens their association with the energy drink giant Red Bull in India and plans to continue scouting talent from the annual international T20 tournament for college cricket teams – Red Bull Campus Cricket.

Besides the trophy and being the national champions, the winning team gets international exposure and a chance to play against other participating countries at the Red Bull Campus Cricket World Finals.

KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Aiden Markram, Lungi Ngidi, Niroshan Dickwella & Chirag Suri are six players who went on to make their names in international cricket for their respective countries by using the Red Bull Campus Cricket platform. Red Bull athlete KL Rahul was the top scorer in the 2013 edition of the competition and credits RBCC for his success at the domestic and international level. Cricketers like Ruturaj Gaikwad, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Anukul Roy, Shivam Dube, Shardul Thakur, Karun Nair and Manan Vohra have also reaped the benefits of Red Bull Campus Cricket.
