Following a scintillating round of league stage and semi-final matches the grand 10 th edition of the only global cricket tournament for university students, Red Bull Campus Cricket concluded its National Finals at the iconic PCA Stadium in Mohali on 22 nd October 2021 with a jaw dropping match between MMCC Pune and New LJ College Ahmedabad. MMCC College from Pune emerged victorious against New LJ College Ahmedabad by 2 wickets to be crowned the best cricket college university in the country for the fourth time in the competition’s history after emerging victorious in 2016.2017 and 2018 previously. The final was officiated by Mr. Anil Chaudhary, an umpire in ICC’s international panel, who has also officiated in many IPL games. On their journey to the final, MMCC Pune beat Sri Ram College from Muzaffarnagar by eight wickets in the first semi-final. New LJ College Ahmedabad beat TKRES Hyderabad by 6 wickets in the second semifinal.

The Red Bull Campus Cricket National Finals hostedthe 8 best cricket colleges from across the countrywith league stagesfrom 18 th to 20 th October where matches took place simultaneously at Mullanpur Stadium and Sector 16 Stadium in Chandigarh.

KL Rahul was part of the 2013 edition of the Red Bull Campus Cricket tournament, he shared his favourite memory of playing in the only global cricket tournament for university students, “My favourite moment: The first thing that comes to my mind is the first-ever Red Bull Campus Cricket tournament that was held and I participated. The tournament has grown over the years and it will continue to be a pathway for more youngsters.”

Rajasthan Royals all-rounder Shivam Dube credits Red Bull Campus Cricket for his introduction to white ball cricket, he said, “I think playing in the Red Bull Campus Cricket national final and world final was great. We played the tournament in Chandigarh and it was a T20 tournament. It was my first learning of white ball cricket and Red Bull Campus Cricket made me realize I could be an all-rounder and an all-format player.”

On winning the Red Bull Campus Cricket National Finals, Yash, captain of MMCC Pune said, “We are delighted with this win, we have practiced very hard to reach the finals and to win it is extra special. It is also a very proud feeling to know that our college has won the Red Bull Campus Cricket India Finals for the fourth time now. As a team, we are proud that we could live up to the legacy of our college in this tournament. We also would love to thank Red Bull for organizing such an amazing tournament to give college students like us a great platform to showcase our talent amongst the best cricket colleges in the country.”
