All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), an autonomous body under the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, recently organised a two-day medical camp at Behror Road in Anantapura, Karnataka, for Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officers, jawans and their families.
The Ayurvedic health camp was set up to offer consultation and free medicines, as well as free health check-ups for lifestyle diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, thyroid, paediatric disorders, Eye & ENT (ear, nose and throat) diseases, anorectal disorders and other common diseases. Apart from this, a free yoga session was also organised at the camp.
The health camp was jointly inaugurated by the Doctors of AIIA and Senior Commandants of CISF. Prof. Dr PK Prajapati, Dr Rajagopala S, and Professor Dr Manjusha Rajagopala from AIIA lighted the lamp with CISF Seniors. Attendees from CISF included Shri M.K Verma, Senior Commandant of 12 th Reserve Corps of CISF; Shri C.L Verma, Deputy Commandant of MPRTC; and Shri VN Jha of People’s Foundation Chairman.
The event saw a huge turnout of security force personnel, who participated with great
enthusiasm with their families. More than 500 CISF Security personnel and their families were benefited by five different teams of senior doctors and PhD /PG Scholars of the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA).
“In line with its mission of promoting holistic health by making the ancient science of Ayurveda accessible to everyone, AIIA had organised the health camp at Anantpura. The camp was set up with an aim to serve those who are dedicated to the service of nation. The huge turnout at the camp reflected the amount of trust CISF personnel have in Ayurveda. The success can be attributed to the collective effort put in by our team of doctors and employees and I would like to thank everyone for it,” said Prof. (Dr.) Tanuja Manoj Nesari, Director, AIIA.
A health talk was also organised in the mega camp. Lectures were delivered by Prof. (Dr.) P.K Prajapati, Dr. Rajagopala S, Prof. (Dr.) Manjusha Rajagopala, and Dr Ramakant Yadav on lifestyle and prevention of health through Ayurvedic treatment of various diseases. A question-answer (Q&A) session was also conducted after the heath talk. On the occasion, Senior Commandant of CISF Shri M.K. Verma and Deputy Commandant Shri CL Verma, along with senior AIIA Doctors Prof. (Dr.) P.K Prajapati, Dr. Rajagopala S, Professor (Dr.) Manjusha Rajagopala, Dr Ramakant Yadav, Dr Vinod Kumar, People’s Foundation President V.N. Jha and General Secretary Rajiv Kumar planted 100 plants of Giloy and 75 other medicinal plants at the CISF premises.
On the second day of the camp, a Yoga session was organised by AIIA for CISF security personnel and trainee jawans. Yoga instructor Ashish Mishra conducted the session and highlighted its advantages for physical and mental fitness.
