HDFC Bank opens branch in Rajasthan Secretariat

HDFC Bank announced that it has opened a branch in the Rajasthan state secretariat.

The new branch, which is also the bank’s first all-woman branch in the state, was inaugurated by Ms. Usha Sharma, Chief Secretary, Government of Rajasthan, in the presence of Mr. Hemant Gera, Principal Secretary, Department of Personnel, Government of Rajasthan and senior HDFC Bank officials including Mr. Prateek Sharma, Branch Banking Head – Central India and Mr. Priyank Vijay, Circle Head – Jaipur.

This was the bank’s 311th branch in the state and also the 84th branch in Jaipur district. More than 50% of HDFC Bank’s branches in Rajasthan are in semi-urban and rural geographies reflecting the bank’s commitment to serve unbanked and under banked regions of the state.

Commenting on the launch of the new branch at the state secretariat, Mr. Prateek Sharma, Branch Banking Head – Central India, HDFC Bank, said: “The new branch will ensure that every employee of the state secretariat will have access to world class banking products and services. We have been growing our footprint in Rajasthan by opening new branches across the state. Through a combination of physical bank branches and digital banking initiatives we will continue to serve the people of Rajasthan.”

The bank’s journey in Rajasthan began way back in 1999 when it opened its first branch in the state at C Scheme in Jaipur. Today, HDFC Bank has more than 3 million accounts across its branches in the state. Apart from its branch network, the bank has engaged 567 banking correspondents and 7,452 village level entrepreneurs in the state. The Credit Deposit (“CD”) Ratio of the bank, at 143.5%, is highest among all the banks in the state.

We have presence in 141 cities/towns spread across all 33 districts of Rajasthan. Going forward, we will continue to expand our reach by opening more branches in the state.”
