A group of women artisans from IGP tied rakhis to Superstar Akshay Kumar on his visit to Jaipur.
In an Instagram post, the star revealed his delight, remarking, “Met the artisans of Goliyawas in Jaipur, who work 365 days through the year to prepare Rakhis for the festival of Rakshabandhan and earn their livelihoods through this festival of sibling love.”
The artisans work with IGP, the largest D2C seller of Rakhis in the world, sending more than 20 million Rakhis across 100+ countries. The company works with 10000+ artisans(mostly women) by adopting villages in Jaipur and surrounding areas. They use their craft to convert threads into ornamental Rakhis in more than 1000 designs. Of these artisans, 1000+ living in Golyawas were visited by Akshay Kumar and his team today.
IGP is also the official gifting partner of the upcoming Bollywood film Rakshabandhan, which features superstar Akshay Kumar in the lead role. IGP was seen as a natural fit to partner with the film as it has the largest online Raksha Bandhan collection in India, and with the capability to deliver Rakhi gifts to over 100+ countries and 1000+ cities in India, IGP is the go-to destination for festive gifting for Indians.
“Raksha Bandhan is one of the major celebrations in India, and IGP has made its mark by being the largest marketplace of Rakhis every year. We are thrilled to associate with a film like Rakshabandhan that celebrates the sibling bond. We see massive potential in this collaboration as stars like Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar have a massive fan following,” Said Tarun Joshi, Founder & CEO, IGP.
Bhumi Pednekar and Sahil Mehta are also a part of this Akshay Kumar-starrer directed by Aanand L Rai, slated to release on August 11 this year. Rai has directed hits like Tanu Weds Manu and Raanjhanaa.
