Reiterating its commitment to the Indian market, Daikin India announced its plans for its third R&D centre in India at Neemrama, Rajasthan. Spread over 6 acres, it will employ more than 250 engineers dedicated to research and develop tailor made products for the discerning Indian consumers. Daikin India will invest Rs. 500 crore over the next three years. This new R&D centre will have 22 new testing facilities / labs, intended to increase Daikin’s manufacturing competitiveness to dominate the export demands from overseas market. Set up with an investments of INR 500 Crore, it is Daikin’s third development centre, alongside two others located at Hyderabad & Neemrana, respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Srinivas Reddy, Vice President, R&D, Daikin India said that we at Daikin strongly believe in constant innovation and this R&D centre will help us to put channelized effort in conceptualization of products that are technologically advanced and sustainable. India is a critical market for us and the rationale behind setting up this R&D centre is to invest in technologies that suit Indian conditions & build products as per the demands of consumers.
Mr. K J Jawa, Chairman & Managing Director, Daikin India said said that the new R&D centre will be pivotal in positioning Daikin as pioneers in innovation in technology and engineering in India; and will showcase its commitment towards the Indian market. The R&D centre will look at building products that not just suit Indian consumers but will also focus on creating technologies which are sustainable and environment friendly for the global consumers. Daikin took the pioneering step to invest in setting up multiple HVAC & Refrigeration R&D capabilities and establish India as a ‘reliable’ manufacturing destination to drive exports across the globe.
