Commemorating women this International Women’s Day, India’s award-winning journalist, Barkha Dutt, returns with her annual flagship event, We The Women – one of the largest interactive gender forums in India, hosting its 6th edition this year. The veteran journalist envisions curating this edition by unleashing glamor, gravitas and grassroots. After three years of a digital forum, this edition is all set to take place on-ground on 4th March in Jaipur.
We The Women, a one of its kind festival of, for and by women, brings together men and women from various arenas across cinema, sports, literature, politics, military and law. Eminent speakers will join the forum to celebrate women for a day full of festivities, fabulous conversations and unmissable fun.
The festival will also recognize and honor top achievers with the annual H.E.R Awards (Hope, Empower, Rise) to Women of Impact in 2023.
This year, We The Women has lined up noteworthy individuals like Major Abhilasha Barak, known for becoming the first woman combat aviator in the Indian Army in 2022. Accompanying her will be Lt Col. Anila Khatri to speak on Women in Uniform and storming the Final Frontier.
Vidya Balan (Actor), known for being a pioneer for change in the film industry will speak about her journey in questioning stereotypes. Also speaking on the We the Women stage is Janhvi Kapoor (Actor) opening up about how she has forged her own cinematic path amid dealing with personal loss, like the death of her mother, Sridevi. Aditya Roy Kapur (Actor) fresh from the success of Night Manager will speak on New Age Heroes and the changing idea of Masculinity in the Modern Age. The vivacious mother-daughter duo Shweta Bachchan Nanda and Navya Naveli Nanda will speak of being their own Bachchans and becoming advocates for equality.
Equally pioneering, Ghazal Alagh (Co-founder of Mamaearth), Vani Kola (Indian Venture Capitalist), Radhika Raje Gaewad (Royal Family of Baroda) and Gauravi Kumari (the Princess of Jaipur) will also be among the speakers. Neelam Krishnamoorthy (Chairperson of the Association of the Victims of Uphaar Tragedy) and Rajshri Deshpande who plays her in the acclaimed series, Trial by Fire and Moomal Meher, the 14-year-old cricket sensation will participate in the panels covering entrepreneurship, politics, entertainment and law. Dr Nozer Sheriar will speak on his unusual role as the Man Leading the Conversation on Menopause. Social Media Influencers including Sakshi Sindhwani and Sanjana Rishi will lead conversations on Body Positivity.
This year’s engrossing interactions will kickstart at 9.00 AM (IST) on 04 March 2023. Entry to the ground event in Jaipur is free but space is limited and there is a mandatory pre-registration.
