The National FOGSI Conference was held on August 17th and 18th, 2024 in Jaipur, Rajasthan with participation from over 500 healthcare professionals from across India. Organised by the Jaipur Obstetrics and Gynecological Society under the aegis of the Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecological Society of India (FOGSI), the latest advancements in the field of obstetrics and gynecology were extensively discussed through presentations and knowledge sharing.
The conference featured a series of interactive keynote lectures, panel discussions, and collaborative sessions, aimed at addressing current challenges and exploring future opportunities in obstetrics and gynecology. A key focus was the burden of reproductive morbidities, particularly maternal health, which constitute a significant portion of the disease burden among women.
Dr Asha Verma (MD, OBG), Medical Superintendent and Senior Professor, Mahila Chikitsalaya and SMS Medical College, Jaipur, highlighted the significance of the conference in the broader context of healthcare improvement in India. “Conducting the National FOGSI Conference aligns perfectly with our mission to enhance the women healthcare ecosystem in India”, she mentioned. “This conference provided a crucial platform for healthcare professionals to come together, share their knowledge, and collaborate on innovative solutions to some of the most pressing challenges in obstetrics and gynecology. In addition to fostering collaboration, the conference also served as a venue for discussing the latest research and developments in evidence-based practices and cutting-edge technologies, underscoring the need for continuous learning and adaptation in the rapidly evolving medical landscape.
Dr Prem Lata Mittal, Sr Prof & Head, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology SMS Medical College, Jaipur echoed these sentiments, emphasising the commitment to supporting initiatives that drive progress in women’s healthcare. “This conference was a significant step forward in shaping the future of obstetrics and gynecology in India, and we are proud to have played a role in making it happen,” she explained.
