The 2nd National VGU R.K. Rastogi Memorial National Negotiation Competition will be held from 28th to 29th September, 2024 at Vivekanand Global University. More than 35 teams from reputed law institutes and National Law Universities across the country will participate in this national level competition. Eminent advocates, legal experts including judges of the Supreme Court and Rajasthan High Court will participate in the inaugural ceremony.
On this occasion, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Augustine George Masih judge supreme court of India will be the Chief Guest, and Hon’ble Mr. justice Manindra Mohan Shrivastava Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court will be the presiding Guest, Hon’ble Mr. justice Avneesh Jhingan Judge Rajasthan High Court will be the guest of honour and honourable Mr. justice Ajay Rastogi will be special guests.
Additional Solicitor General of India Mr. R. D. Rastogi said that this competition is a unique opportunity to provide a wide platform to the students of law institutes to better showcase their communication style and skill development which will give a new dimension to their career. Through this competition, students will learn about Negotiation as an alternative to the regular court process and will be step forward for encouraging the upcoming lawyers to reduce the burden of pending cases in the court.

Panwar said that the Vivekananda Global University established under the Rajasthan State Legislative Assembly Act 2012, is a leading private University renowned for its innovative teaching methods, cutting-edge research and comprehensive curriculum. The university organizes such programs from time to time for legal awareness and empowerment.
VGU Vice Chairman Dr. K.R. Bagaria said that the inaugural ceremony of the competition will be held on 28 September 2024 at 9 am in the Auditorium, Technology Block of VGU. The prize distribution and closing ceremony will be held on 29 September at 2.30 pm. He said that under the guidance of judges, legal experts and senior advocates, VGU provides an opportunity to law students to demonstrate their understanding of legal subjects and share their views through negotiation and moot court competitions at the national level
every year.
Chief Executive Officer of the University, Mr. Omkar Bagaria said that law is a profession where students need to have a deep understanding of practical aspects along with theoretical knowledge of law. The main objective of this event is to train and encourage law students to resolve legal disputes through mutual understanding and agreement.
Dean of Law Department. Prof. P.P. Mitra said that the winners of the competition will be awarded cash prize and trophy. In this two-day competition, the participants will demonstrate their legal strategies, procedures and abilities to reach mutually beneficial agreements.
Head of Law Department Dr. Shilpa Rao Rastogi said that this alternative solution process helps in quick resolution of pending cases in the courts. She also said that such competitions are organized in very few law institutes. The participants are very enthusiastic about the competition.
