Pedro Pascal is no stranger to powerful roles and now, as he steps onto the iconic set under the direction of Ridley Scott, we would imagine it would be nothing short of a “dream come true”. Known for his ability to bring emotional depth to complex characters, Pascal takes on the role of Acacius, a figure whose shifting alliances and inner conflicts keep viewers guessing. With his magnetic presence and a deep respect for the world of Gladiator, Pascal brings a fresh intensity to this long-anticipated sequel, ready to carve his place in the epic saga he’s admired for years. Here’s what he had to say about stepping into this world . The film makes its way to cinemas in India from 15th November in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu in 4Dx & IMAX!.
Pascal says he saw Gladiator multiple times when it was first released. It’s been a dream come true for him to work with a director whose films he has admired for so long. He says, “For most of my life, I have only experienced his work as a spectator — eyes wide open and completely dazzled,” he says. “To be part of one of his movies is something I didn’t expect to happen. You have to pay attention to the where and why of his allegiances. Because he is leading the Roman army, you’ll think he’s a villain. But Acacius loves Lucilla, a beloved character from the first movie. So, then he’s a good guy. And the movie plays those tricks on us continually.”
