Khajuraho Dance Festival 2025 Sets Guinness World Record for Longest Indian Classical Dance Marathon Relay

In a historic cultural milestone, the Department of Culture, Government of Madhya Pradesh has successfully set a new Guinness World Record for the Longest Indian Classical Dance Marathon Relay during the 51st Khajuraho Dance Festival. The official adjudication was conducted by Hanane Spiers from Guinness World Records, who presented the certificate to Dr. Mohan Yadav, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh.

Guinness World Record is a testament to the dedication of our artists and the cultural leadership of Madhya Pradesh. We are committed to promoting and preserving India’s heritage on the global stage.”

This extraordinary achievement was executed under the guidance of Shiv Shekhar Shukla, Principal Secretary, Culture Department, and the attempt was strategized by Nischal Barot, a seasoned expert in world record planning and execution. Nischal Barot, who has successfully led multiple Guinness World Record attempts across India, played a pivotal role in orchestrating this massive cultural endeavor, ensuring seamless coordination and adherence to GWR guidelines.

The record-breaking relay featured a continuous showcase of India’s classical dance forms, including Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Odissi and Kuchipudi performed by some of the country’s most distinguished artists. Set against the iconic Khajuraho temples, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the event symbolized the endurance, devotion, and artistic excellence of Indian classical dance traditions.

This achievement marks yet another milestone for the Khajuraho Dance Festival, further elevating its international stature and reinforcing Madhya Pradesh’s role as a custodian of India’s artistic legacy.
