Flipkart and National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) collaborate for a dedicated workshop for rural women entrepreneurs

Flipkart, India’s homegrown e-commerce marketplace, today organized an MSME onboarding workshop at Bikaner, in collaboration with NRLM, and the Government of Rajasthan. The workshop aimed at equipping MSMEs, artisans, self help groups, and rural women entrepreneurs with the knowledge and skills required to facilitate market access for local businesses through e-commerce. The workshop was conducted in the presence of Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Hon’ble Minister of Law and Justice, Government of India and Flipkart leadership.

The workshop aimed to strengthen the capabilities of local communities for entrepreneurship. With a strong focus on showcasing Flipkart’s marketplace offerings, the orientation workshop was designed to equip communities of rural women entrepreneurs, artisans, and SHGs with the knowledge and tools needed to access national markets and expand their businesses. Organized in partnership with National Rural Livelihood Mission Foundation (NRLM), the orientation session in Bikaner, Rajasthan, saw participation from close to 200 rural women entrepreneurs, artisans and SHGs.

Speaking at the workshop, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Hon’ble Minister of Law and Justice, Government of India, said, “Empowering Rajasthan’s entrepreneurs to succeed in the digital era is a key priority for us. This workshop equips small businesses with the skills and guidance they need to harness e-commerce and expand their market reach. I commend Flipkart for partnering with us on this initiative, which will strengthen our local economy and create a more inclusive and digitally empowered business environment across the state.”

Flipkart Samarth has played a pivotal role in promoting underserved communities across India. Launched in 2019, Flipkart Samarth is a nationwide initiative to open new growth opportunities for MSMEs, artisans, and underserved communities through e-commerce by providing an inclusive, nationwide digital platform to help them develop the capabilities for earning a better living. The program has seen significant growth through strategic engagements and partnerships with State and Central Ministries, Government Departments, and other entities across India.
