AU Small Finance Bank (AU SFB), India’s largest Small Finance Bank and the first to receive in-principle approval from the Reserve Bank of India to transition into a Universal Bank, today organized the 4th District-Level Sports Tournament under its strategic ‘Bano Champion’ initiative. The two-day tournament, scheduled for November 15th and 16th, 2025 (Saturday and Sunday), is being held across 12 zones of Rajasthan, following the successful VillageLevel Sports Events conducted in September across 60+ locations in the state.
The district-Level Tournament provides an opportunity for core athletes and winners from the village tournaments to showcase their abilities and qualify for the upcoming StateLevel Championship.
Over 5,000 children (approximately 3,000 boys and 2,000 girls) are expected to participate across multiple sports including Athletics, Football, Throwball, Volleyball, and Kabaddi. For the first time, Girls’ Football has been introduced as part of the district-Level Tournament a step further in AU SFB’s commitment to empowering young girls through sports.
Speaking about the initiative, Mr. Sanjay Agarwal, Founder, MD & CEO, AU Small Finance Bank, said:“At AU Small Finance Bank, we believe that the spirit of sports mirrors the values we live by—discipline, teamwork, resilience, and aspiration. Through the Bano Champion initiative, we are investing in India’s youth by nurturing talent from the grassroots level. This tournament transcends competition; it’s about building confidence, creating opportunity, and strengthening communities. What fills me with pride is witnessing thousands of children—especially young girls—stepping onto the field, defying barriers, and discovering their potential. This is how champions are born—not just on the field, but in spirit.”
