P&G Shiksha: P&G India Employees Volunteer to Erase Learning Gaps for Students in Bhiwadi

Procter & Gamble India (P&G India), maker of trusted brands including Whisper, Tide, and Gillette, continues its commitment to enabling children in underserved communities through P&G Shiksha, its flagship CSR programme. P&G Shiksha for yet another year has launched a nationwide, month-long volunteer drive, where employees are stepping beyond their workplaces to spend meaningful time with students at Shiksha-supported schools and communities in collaboration with its NGO partners. Through mentorship, skill-sharing, and storytelling, volunteers are helping strengthen foundational learning and address learning gaps, demonstrating that lasting change begins with human connection.

This year, hundreds of employees across India are delivering structured learning modules in P&G Shiksha-supported communities, in partnership with implementation organizations. The modules focus on building strong life skills and learning relevance, including Emotional Intelligence to strengthen resilience, self-confidence, empathy, and social skills; Career Awareness for the Future to introduce diverse professions and expand children’s understanding of possibilities, including how a company like P&G works; and Soft Skills
training for older beneficiaries, including practical tips and mock interviews. In Bhiwadi, the employees came together to impart skills on emotional intelligence amongst young learners who are part of the Learning Centres operated in partnership with Ibtada, to ensure they take care of their wellbeing as they chase their dreams.

Over these 2 decades, P&G Shiksha, established in 2005—well before the national CSR law came into effect, has single mindedly focused on education as a core impact area. Within this, Shiksha has evolved from focusing only on building school infrastructure to now focusing on improving learning outcomes. Today, Shiksha’s efforts are directed towards improving foundational literacy and numeracy via prevention and remediation of learning gaps, to ensure that every child learns with conceptual understanding at their grade level. Over 20 years, P&G Shiksha has worked in thousands of communities and schools, collectively impacting over 50 lakh children.

P&G operates a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in the industrial zone in Bhiwadi, driving significant investments and generating direct and indirect employment.
