The whole world, is slowly limping back to a the sense of normalcy, but one thing that is not going to change anytime is the video calling apps.
Video calling apps make Online meetings, classes and chats, virtually interactive, more natural, more engaging and ultimately, more human.
Microsoft has added a ton of new features to its video-conferencing app. Taking a page from the book of Zoom video conferencing features, Microsoft lets users add a custom background, among others.
Aiming to help you avoid showing that untidy part of the background while keeping the focus on you, Teams comes with support for custom backgrounds.
Users can either select one of the collections of preset images or upload one to customize the background. This feature is an add-on to the background blur that Microsoft introduced last year in Teams.
In an official blog post. Microsoft said that the new features will help reduce meeting fatigue and make them more inclusive and engaging. It’s all about enabling people everywhere to collaborate, to stay connected, and to discover new ways to be productive from anywhere, around the world.
Some of the features that are coming to Microsoft Teams are :
- Together Mode
Together mode makes meetings more engaging by helping you focus on other people’s face and body language and making it easier to pick up on the non-verbal cues that are so important to human interaction.
- Video Filters
Filters are commonly used in different apps such as Instagram, Snapchat, Microsoft is introducing them to teams. These filters will help out people in adjusting the light levels and by softening the focus to make video calls more interactive.
- Live Reactions
Teams are introducing people to an option of Live Reactions which will enable people to send emoji’s while on a call.
- Chat Bubbles
At the moment, Team users need to open the chat window to view the chats, but now after the launch of new features: chats sent during the call will be visible on the screen of all participants.
All these features are expected to be rolled out later this year.
