Digi Yatra Hits 4 Million Users, Revolutionizing Airport Travel

Digi Yatra, a cutting-edge platform using facial biometric technology for seamless airport processing, has surpassed 4 million registered users since its launch in December 2022. This milestone underscores its transformative impact on air travel with a Privacy by Design ecosystem, leveraging Verifiable Credentials and Decentralized Identifiers.

Initially deployed at Delhi, Bengaluru, and Varanasi airports, Digi Yatra now operates at 14 major airports, including Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, and Kolkata, with plans to expand to 15 more. The platform enhances passenger experience by reducing airport entry time from 15-20 seconds to around 5 seconds and ensures data security by deleting facial biometrics within 24 hours of a flight.

CEO Suresh Khadakbhavi remarked, “This milestone reflects the trust in our vision for a more efficient, secure, and passenger-centric experience. We aim to extend this facility to international travelers soon.”

The Digi Yatra Foundation, a not-for-profit entity, oversees the platform, backed by major airport authorities and operators across India.
